Behavioural Biology and Nature Expedition in Andalusia
Experience ten unforgettable days of adventure, research, and wildlife observation in southern Spain. This expedition seamlessly combines the fascination of wild animals with scientific learning, breathtaking landscapes, and captivating cultural experiences.
At Lobo Park in Antequera, you will immerse yourself in the world of wolves. You will observe various subspecies in spacious enclosures, gaining insight into their behaviour and learning to document it professionally. Building on this, we will explore the fascinating relationship between wolves and dogs, their similarities, their differences, and the foundations of different dog breeds. We will discuss the traits that define dogs and consider which breed truly suits which type of owner. This section is complemented by excursions to Antequera’s historic treasures, including its impressive dolmens, and to the Laguna Fuente de Piedra, a natural haven where we will observe and identify flamingos and numerous other bird species.
In the second part of the expedition, we travel to Tarifa, the southernmost tip of mainland Spain. Situated between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, we will explore the surrounding hills and beaches, observing the local wildlife. A boat trip through the Strait of Gibraltar provides the opportunity to see various species of dolphins and whales. Time on the beach, gentle walks, short hikes, and visits to the charming old town perfectly round off the experience. On our return, we will visit the spectacular city of Ronda, famous for its dramatic gorges and historic architecture.
This expedition is ideal for anyone wishing to experience nature up close while remaining open to history, art, and culture.
