Andreas, a wildlife biologist and certified consultant for organic farming and forestry, has been actively involved with animals, wildlife, and zoos since the late 1980s. He was given the opportunity to transform an unremarkable game park into one of Austria’s leading zoos, a zoological facility soon recognised internationally, which Andreas managed and developed for over a decade.

With more than 30 years of professional experience in zoo management, husbandry, animal care, animal transport, and problem-solving, Andreas works as a consultant, expert, and advisor at both national and international levels. For several years, he represented Austria at CITES CoPs  and Animals Committee meetings, leading the development of the CITES non-air transport guidelines for wild animals and plants. Today, Andreas serves as a member of the IATA LAPB Advisory Panel representing WAZA, the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums.

Andreas has taught wildlife ecology at the University of Graz for twenty years and is a sought-after speaker and consultant. He shares his extensive experience and expertise with zoological institutions, organisations, NGOs, authorities, and individuals who care for animals, and also provides training for animal keepers, both at home and abroad.
