Guided Mountain Hike in the Schütt
The Schütt Landslide Area captivates with its unique flora and fauna. Legend has it that in 1348 the Dobratsch Mountain was struck by such a violent earthquake that half of its original mass tumbled into the surrounding valleys. The dramatic rock formations still visible in the forests bear witness to this event today.
We will guide you to hidden locations off the well-trodden hiking trails, where you are likely to encounter fascinating wildlife, from butterflies and beetles to birds and snakes. Numerous species of butterflies and reptiles thrive in this exceptional area. During the hike, wildlife biologist Andreas will explain how nature functions and introduce you to the wildlife of Carinthia. Meanwhile, as a local and experienced mountain hiking guide, Bettina ensures we stay on course and return safely.
